LOCATION
Danville, the county seat of Hendricks County, is located in central Indiana, 20 miles west of Indianapolis on US 36. From Indianapolis' interstate loop I-465, Chicago, Illinois is 179 miles; Cincinnati, Ohio is 108 miles and Louisville, Kentucky is 119 miles via interstate highways.

Facts :	Danville, the county seat of Hendricks County, is the oldest town in the county. The first settlement in the county was in 1823 and a year later, the county was officially organized as a unit of government on April 1, 1824.

RECREATION
The Town of Danville maintains a beautiful 50-acre park which is at the heart of the community. The park was established in 1913 and was named after the late Harve Ellis, who was the superintendent for 40 years. Ellis Park contains a swimming pool, clay tennis courts, basketball courts, a full football field, a cinder track, 4 softball diamonds, 1 pee-wee baseball diamond, 2 shelter houses and ample parking. The Town of Danville maintains an outdoor theatre, which serves as a stage for the annual "Symphony in the Park" concerts as well as many other events.
